About This Blog

Hey there, My name is Elizabeth, and I am a vegan. I started this blog in an attempt to document my personal journey into veganism and help others who are about to embark on this quest. The vegan lifestyle is very fulfilling, and I could not be happier sharing my experiences with you. So, let’s dive in and find out why and how to become a vegan.

Elizabeth’s Journey

Ever since I was a child, I have loved animals. I have had many pets throughout the years. Some of them include cats, dogs, parrots, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, and tortoises. My love for animals grew so much over the years, that I decided to become a vet.

I got my degree and started a practice in my hometown in Sussex. Every day, tens of animals and their owners come to me for help. I adore being able to make a difference in their lives and keep them healthy and happy.

Needless to say, animal cruelty has always deeply bothered me. I am completely unable to sustain animal suffering. It is my hardcore belief that animals, just like us humans, have intricate personalities and emotions. They are intelligent, sensitive beings with intense emotional lives. They think and feel much as we do.

Therefore, at the age of 9, I became a vegetarian. To me, killing animals to eat their meat is a crime. I did not want to take part in this, so I just resorted to a meat-free life. All throughout my years in school, I would advocate among my peers to become vegetarian as well. Many took up my advice and gave up meat.

I would organize protests and write articles for the school newspaper. I was even invited to participate in several shows on the local cable TV, where I explained at length the benefits of being vegetarian and why it is important to save animals.

How I Decided to Become a Vegan

Right when I started my vet practice, I was diagnosed with a mild chronic illness. At first, I did not think much of it. However, as the years passed, my condition exacerbated, and I started looking for solutions. I tried different approaches from both traditional and alternative medicine. I even took up yoga.

One day, however, it occurred to me that maybe becoming vegan was the solution to my problems. I had read many books and watched plenty of popular documentaries that discussed the benefits of veganism. So, I decided to try it.

As you might imagine, being a vegetarian made the task to transition to an entirely animal product-free diet not so formidable as it might appear. I cut off all animal foods at once, and soon the results started to show up.

Helping You Transition

However, I noticed that becoming a vegan was not as easy for everyone as it had been for me. Therefore, I decided to find a way to help everyone who wished to embrace veganism. This is how the idea about this blog was born.

My goal is to create a safe space of support, mutual understanding, and helpful advice for everyone who wishes to become a vegan. Adopting veganism is a huge change that needs you to be well equipped to succeed. This is exactly what I seek to do here: to prepare you for it and hold your hand as you walk into the new you.
